The Log window

For space economy, the Log window appears in the Project Manager in the same place (over) as the Folder List. To switch from the Folder List to the Log window click on the Log tab.
DNA Baser will automatically open the Log window after it finishes the assembly process if the checkbox Auto switch to log window is checked in the Settings window.
To switch back from the Log window to Folder List click the Sample Explorer tab.
An alternate way to close the Log window is to click on it. If you want you can disable this feature by un-checking the option Close log window on click.
The Log window may look like this:

It will give you info about:
- which file was chosen as Precontig
- neighbors for each sequence
- how many bases each sequence contains
- how many of those bases are 'good bases' (bases with a QV high enough to be trusted).
- how many of the input files were assembled
- the length of the assembled contig
- the number of errors/ambiguities/mismatches
- if the contaminant vector sequences were found and removed
- the location where the contig was saved (only if DNA Baser was instructed to automatically save the contig)
- the processing time (in seconds)
