Details about the trial period
Full working trial versus demo mode
INSTANT ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM
While many other companies that offer similar products does not offer you a full working version for testing (or they don't give access to the download link
unless you disclose your personal data), we allow you to test DNA Baser Assembler before purchasing it.
TRIAL PERIOD
When you install DNA Baser for the first time in your computer, it will run as a full working trial. After 16* hours of continuous run (total usage time), it will switch from full working trial to demo mode.
The time will lapse only if the program is running. For example, if you use the program for 2 hours per day, then you will have a trial period of 8 days.
AFTER TRIAL
When the trial period has ended, the program will pop-up a message and it will switch to Demo mode.
In Demo mode, the program is still fully functional except the 'Save contig' and 'Copy contig' functions which will not work anymore.
The program may run again as full working trial when a new version is released. In these cases we may reset the trial 'imprint' to give the user the possibility to evaluate the new version again.
EXTENDING THE TRIAL PERIOD
If the Trial period was not long enough for you to evaluate our software in depth you can request a (free) extension.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRIAL AND DEMO
In trial mode the program has almost no limitations (the only limitation you may encounter is that DNA Baser will refuse to assemble more than 25-30 samples at once).
In Demo mode you can do the same things as in Trial mode but you can not save the contig to disk (or to clipboard). All other save functions are still enabled - for example the 'Primers Database', 'Reverse Complement', 'Clone library dereplicator', 'Metadata integrator', tools will still work.
WARNINGS
Don't play you computer's clock/calendar while DNA Baser Assembler is running. If the clock is set to a wrong day/time (in the future or in the past), the trial will instantly expire (DNA Baser will switch to demo mode).
Before installing the program in your computer, please make sure the date/time is correct.
* The length of the trial period may change in time, or from a version to another.
