Automatically choosing a project name and saving the contig to disk

DNA Baser is different from other sequence assemblers because it tries to minimize the interaction with the user by taking automatic decisions. Some of these enhancements are choosing a name for your project based on the name of the current folder and saving the contig to disk. The contig will be automatically saved to the current folder, using project's name, as SEQ or FASTA, depending on what you have chosen in the Settings window.

Of course, if you do not like the name that DNA Baser chooses for your project, you can override it, by inserting a new name into the "Project name" box:

In addition, you can instruct DNA Baser to insert the prefix 'Contig' in front of contig's name. This will help you to easily identify the new generated contig file among other files. For example, if you assemble 2 SCF files in a folder called "E.Coli" then the contig's name will be "Contig - Contig E.Coli.FASTA".

Notes:

When DNA Baser starts, the Project Manager window is opened by default.

If the Project Manager window is not visible on screen, you can bring it on top by pressing the "View->Project Manager" menu, or the F8 key on your keyboard.

You cannot close the Project Manager - you can only minimize it.
