Description:
Use Fasta to multi-Fasta Converter to split a multi-FASTA file in multiple standard FASTA files. Protein FASTA files are not supported.

Install process:
Starting with October 2008, multi-Fasta to Fasta Converter was integrated in DNA Baser together with other free molecular biology tools. Just download the package (only 2MB) and double click it. The install process should take less than 5 seconds. The installer will automatically extract all files to the specified folder and it will start the main program.

Portability:
Fasta to multi-Fasta converter is very small so you can easily copy it on a USB flash stick and take it with you or send it to your colleagues via email. Freeware.

How to use the converter:
  * Start the multi-Fasta to Fasta Converter from the 'Tools -> Multi-Fasta to Fasta converter' menu.

  * Locate the folder that contains your multi-FASTA files.

  * Choose how you want to name the resulted files.

  * Press the 'Start' button.

The resulted FASTA files will be automatically saved in the same folder where the input files are located OR if you checked the 'Create sub-folder' checkbox, a new sub-folder will be created in the current folder. The resulted FASTA files will be saved in this folder.
